Myrene and I did 3 graduation cakes this week. You’ll have to wait for Myrene to post the picture of the one she made. She’s been a little busy this week. Two of her 3 daughters are/were pregnant. Jess had her baby this week and Myrene has been busy being a “Mimi”.
The first cake I did is for my niece who graduated from high school last night. Her school colors are black and silver. Not really good “cake colors” so I improvised.
Being the girly-girl she is I thought she would appreciate a groovy grad cake. The bottom tier is Margarita, the single layer second tier is chocolate/vanilla marble. Both covered in vanilla buttercream. The cap is made with a rice krispy treat and fondant covered cardboard for the mortar board.
The second cake was for a friend of a friend who is graduating today from the same high school my son graduation from 2 years ago. Green and white are the school colors. The cake is triple chocolate fudge with vanilla buttercream. Cap is made the same way as the groovy cake.
I have another graduation cake for next Saturday. This one will be a little more on the wild side. Check back later for an update.
Keep it sweet!
Deah
