How do you decorate a cake for a soldier coming home from Iraq? Well, the person throwing the party thought that camouflage might be fun…and, I agree, it would.
But, then I wondered, “Why did he go over there to begin with?” I mean, he didn’t go over there because he thought he would have a good time. Hey, war is not fun.
Wayne went over there because he loves our country. He went over there to fight for the freedom of others; freedom most of us take for granted.
Then I asked my friend if he thought a flag would be more appropriate. After all, it is our national symbol for freedom. Listen to the words about our flag: “Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave o’er the land of the free…and the home of the brave?” We are free because brave men like Wayne served our country. Thank you Wayne and all the soldiers who have sacrificed for our freedom!
